FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT MY HOMETOWN/COUNTRY
I like the fact that we are geographically situated in an archipelago all by ourselves, next door to the United States on one end and in close proximity to many other Caribbean countries. Additionally, as a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, we are in a sense family to Europe. All in all, Bahamians have a sense of unlimited freedom and independence and I believe the make up of our geography has a lot to do with it.
LIFE'S AMBITITIONS
To be the best "me" I can be. At the end of the day, I want to be happy knowing I did my absolute best with every task that was handed to me. Moreover, I'd be content if I could positively touch at least one person's life and they in turn do the same for someone else.
HOBBIES
Reading, Dancing, Travelling, Listening to music, Modeling, Watching and playing sports.
MY GOALS IN LIFE
To obtain my Associates of Science Degree in Biology, become a General and Cosmetic Dentist and lead my own practice.
MY BEST ASSET IS
Physically, I'd have to say my best asset would have to be my legs but overall it's the fact that I'm genuine.
MY DAILY PHILOSOPHY IS
To thine own self be true, and God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
THE MOVIE (AND/OR BOOK) THAT MOST INFLUENCED MY LIFE
Movie: This was a tough choice but the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is easily one of my favorite movies. Audrey Hepburn's fashion style throughout that movie is amazing. I also love how eloquent she was, both on and off camera. She spoke with such passion and life even when in character.
"I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" was introduced to me by my mother and older sister and I have read the book three times already. What I like most about the book is the fact that it's relatable. Maya Angelou's expertise in poetry/writing surpasses all.
WHO I WOULD LIKE TO MEET AND WHY
Lara Dutta - Miss Universe 2000. During pageant research, I came across a video of Miss Dutta competing in Miss Universe. Her poise, elegance and stage presence was phenomenal. Not once did she appear to be nervous, lost for words or conceited. At such a critical time, she kept her humility.
I AM MOTIVATED BY
I'm always motivated by my goals but I'm also motivated by my parents. I couldn't be more blessed to have such wonderful, hardworking, loving people as my earthly guardians.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE THE JUDGES TO KNOW ABOUT ME IS
I am a highly educated, well versed, hard working young lady with high moral standards and convictions.
MY COMMUNITY SERVICE/ACHIEVEMENTS ARE
My platform of "At-Risk" Youth will target youth throughout the country, working with organizations to help raise money for them and also mentor them.
- AIDS/HIV Awareness Night at The Hub
- Fun Run Walk in aid of Great Commission Ministries
- Wine and Cheese Fundraiser in aid of KWIB Opals
- Volunteering at the Bahamas Crisis Center
