One of the things I have come to love about my country is our food and the way we as Bahamians prepare it. Another thing would have to be our unique Bahamian Dialect which sets us apart from other nationals and displays who we are as Bahamians.
LIFE'S AMBITITIONS
My life's ambition is to become a Certified Forensic Pathologist. I am fascinated by the science of determining how an individual dies. It may not be the most glamorous thing to do but it is what I want to do and with God's help, this dream of mine will become a reality.
HOBBIES
I enjoy reading because it broadens one's vocabulary while keeping you informed about what's happening around you. I also love to experiment with make-up.
MY GOALS IN LIFE
My short term goal is to complete my bachelor's degree in bio-chem (biology/chemistry) so I can further my studies at medical school when I'm done . My long term goal would be to have already completed school and enjoying my job as a Forensic Pathologist. I also want to be married with kids.
MY BEST ASSET IS
My ability to lend a listening ear to others experiencing problems, especially young females. I feel it is my duty to help out the best way I can, try to make the individual feel better, and let them know prayer is the answer and everything will be ok.
MY DAILY PHILOSOPHY IS
"God will not put more on you than you can bare'' I keep that in mind at all times whenever I'm feeling down I always remember that there will be better days ahead.
THE MOVIE (AND/OR BOOK) THAT MOST INFLUENCED MY LIFE
The movie that has influenced my life the most is 'The Passion of The Christ'. This movie touched my heart and made me realize how blessed we are as humans, because God sent Jesus to die for our sins.
WHO I WOULD LIKE TO MEET AND WHY
I would like to meet the talented singer/actress Beyonce Knowles. I consider myself her biggest fan. Beyonce has come a long way - she went from being a member of a top selling girl group to a multi platinum solo artist. She's recognized all over the world for what she does, especially empowering females through her music. She inspires me in so many ways; she shows she is not afraid to perform in front of millions of people. Despite the negative that is said about her she stills 'rises to the occasion' and does her best at it. She doesn't let anything keep her down, she has set goals and she's pursuing them one by one. This is why I would like to meet her.
I AM MOTIVATED BY
I feel I push myself further when I simply talk to myself and encourage myself to believe that I can do the task at hand, and that I should not be afraid. Also when I see persons not expecting me to do any good, I work harder to prove that I can do it.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE THE JUDGES TO KNOW ABOUT ME IS
I would like the judges to know that entering this pageant was actually a task for me. I was shy for many years. When it came to speaking in front of persons, my legs would literally shake and I would want to cry, but now I constantly tell myself that I am not shy, it's all in the mind. When I do that, I find myself not being afraid anymore. I am a very determined young lady and this is something that I really want and I will work hard for it. As the popular saying goes' Hard work will pay off'.
MY COMMUNITY SERVICE/ACHIEVEMENTS ARE
I volunteered at the Bilney Lane Children's Home for about two weeks, it was fun there but it was also a learning experience. I realized how fortunate I am and how not to take anything for granted. I also volunteered at the Soldier Road Old Folk's Home. I became very fond of the elders there, and found them to be highly intelligent. They were nice, caring people. I helped with the making their beds, feeding them and I cleaned their surroundings.
